  2. Adani Green Energy, a subsidiary of the Adani Group has recently mentioned that it aims to be water-positive in all operations and locations by 2025-26. The company is already committed to reducing its freshwater consumption across its operational locations. • By being water-positive and adapting practices to save water, the Adani Group will be able to minimise the impact on the environment caused by its various project operations. It will also be able to bring about a transition to a cleaner nation, and the controversies of the Adani SEC investigation will also subside.

Adani To Achieve Water Positivity By 2025-26: • Adani Green Energy, the renewable energy wing of the Adani Group, has recently mentioned that it is committed to achieving net water positivity by 2025-26 at all its operational locations. The Adani Group company is extremely committed to reducing freshwater consumption. Being water-positive signifies implementing practices that not only help save water but also increase water availability in the surrounding areas. For industries, this would signify replenishing more water to nature than they consume in their various operations. The renewable energy sector requires a considerable amount of water to carry out various tasks like solar panel maintenance.

The Adani Group’s roadmap to realise the goal of achieving water sustainability involves taking up several strategic initiatives which are aimed at preserving water. This includes water harvesting, water conservation, and community engagement. The company has mentioned that it has already made extraordinary progress on the journey towards sustainable water management. It aims to further enhance its strategies and achieve extraordinary business outcomes. Through its initiatives, the group also aims to win the trust of the people post the allegations of the Adani SEC case.

It has also decreased its water usage intensity and has contributed significantly to replenishing water resources in several regions which are already facing high water scarcity. This includes areas like Jaisalmer, Kutch, and Khavda. In 2024, Adani Green mentioned that it avoided the use of 3,47,310 kl of water. This was done through advanced techniques like robot cleaning. This volume is equivalent to the water consumption of 1.58 million households. • 43.5 % of Adani Green Energy’s totally operational capacity has already included robotic technology in its operations for cleaning the photovoltaic modules. This has ensured that the cleaning process can take place without causing significant harm to the environment. This achievement focuses on the solid groundwork for Adani Group’s goal of achieving net water-positive status across its various operational locations.
