  3. Our History 1958: Boston University School of Medicine established a Department of Stomatology. The institution was the only one in the country devoted solely to specialty education in dentistry. The Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry was founded in 1963 under the leadership of Dean Henry M. Goldman 1972 the school initiated a predoctoral program leading to the Doctor of Dental Medicine degree

Our Community Dean: Dr. Jeffrey Hutter (Endodontist ) Faculty: 194 faculty members compensated 115 full-time/ 79 part-time  125 uncompensated Students: Aggregate number of DMD students – 445 Aggregate number of Advanced Standing Students –151 Aggregate number of Postdoctoral Residents- 197 Staff over: 200 Dental Health Center at 930 Com Ave: provides care to members of the Boston University community. Dental Health Plan offers also coverage to employees of Boston Medical Center through the AEGD clinic and faculty practice.
