  2. c. Failing powers –v.7-13 The weakness of old age –v.9 Eccl.12:1-7 describes this weakness v.1 – prepare in your youth v.2 – old age can be dark v.3-5 – declining powers/abilities v.6,7 – beauty & fragility of human life Greatest enemies are sin, death & Satan

  3. 2. Speaking of God & His acts –v.14-21 • To ourselves – God is a mighty, faithful sovereign saviour –v.15,16,17,19, 22.. • To the next generation –v.18 Joshua, Caleb – Jos.14:10-14; 23:14, 24:15 Samuel – 1 Sam.12:2,22-25 Anna – Lk. 2:36-38 etc, etc..

  4. 3. Overflowing with praise –v.22-24 a. All of life to praise God –v.6,8 b. Grow in praising God –v.14 c. Use fingers, lips & heart to praise God –v.22-24

  5. 4. The challenges of old age/any age • Am I growing as a disciple of Jesus? Phil.3:10-14 • What kind of witness am I to Jesus? • What am I looking forward to? 2Cor.4:16-18; Mt.6:20
