  9. EXERCISE TERMS • Cardiac Output- determines how hard the heart is working. It is measured by calculating the volume of blood that leaves the heart every minute. An adult at rest will have a cardiac output of roughly 7 litres per minute • Stroke Volume- The volume of blood pumped per beat • Heart Rate-Number of beats per minute
