A Podiatrist Can Take Care of Your Foot Problems

https://www.adeptpodiatry.com.au/ - Poor leg movement pattern and abnormal lower limb postures, or poor biomechanical alignment can increase the chances of injuries. Biomechanic is a term refers to the study of the structure and the functions of the mechanical aspects of the body and its tissues. Foot orthotics are simple devices designed to help improve biomechanical alignment and thus treat disorders of the foot and the lower leg. At Adept Podiatry, we provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for patients with foot and lower limb conditions. We treat everyone from professional athletes to children or the elderly. 1. Foot Health And How Orthotics Can Help Biomechanics is a term that refers to the study of the structure and the functions of the mechanical aspects of the body and its tissues. Foot Orthotics are simple devices designed to help improve biomechanical alignment and thus treat disorders of the foot and the lower leg.

  2. Foot Health Poor leg movement pattern and abnormal lower limb postures, or poor biomechanical alignment can increase the chances of injuries. Inappropriate leg movement can be related to bony anatomical anomalies, alignment of joints, and strength, timing and control of the muscles around the bones.

  3. Also, any old injury or neurological disorders can be the cause of pathological biomechanics. Biomechanical problems like excessive pronation of the foot, or rolling in at the wrong time during motion, can lead to injuries and cause hip, knee and lower back pain.

  4. Poor foot posture in old people can lead to an ankle sprain and cause degenerative joint diseases or arthritis. Biomechanical alignment disorders can be treated by strengthening and increasing flexibility of the muscles around the ankle, the knee or the pelvis.

  5. How Do Foot Orthotics Help? 1. They reduce pathological biomechanics by treating joint movement patterns of the foot and the ankle and improve the overall biomechanical movement pattern of the legs. 2. They allow muscles to function within their mechanically optimal range of motion, enabling them to work better. 3. Their specific shape applies oppositional force to unwanted joint motion, reducing stress to the tissues during activity.

  6. How Do Foot Orthotics Help? 4. Using orthotics daily can change the biomechanics to provide relief to the muscles and reduce pain by unloading overstressed tissues. 5. One can either go for an off the shelf device or opt for custom made orthotics, for definitive postural control. www.adeptpodiatry.com.au
