  3. The river begins in Minnesota.

  4. It ends in the Gulf of Mexico.

  5. The Ohio River empties into the Mississippi River.

  6. The Missouri River does, too.

  7. In fact, several rivers join the Mississippi River on its journey.

  8. Many big cities are along the river.

  9. Minneapolis is one of those cities.

  10. St. Paul is another one.

  11. These cities are called “the twin cities.”

  12. They are right next to each other.

  13. These cities are in Minnesota.

  14. You can see the Mississippi River in St. Louis, too.

  15. The Gateway Arch is in St. Louis.

  16. It is an awesome landmark.

  17. The landmark sits right next to the Mississippi River.

  18. From there, the river travels to Louisiana.

  19. It goes through New Orleans.

  20. There are lots of boats on the river.

  21. Finally, it goes into the Gulf of Mexico.
