  2. The Anthony P. Marotti Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a not for profit organization established in honor of our dear friend who succumbed to cancer on November 9, 2002. In loving memory, we, the Board of Directors and dear friends endeavor to raise funds for scholarships as well as to support local area youth programs. Anthony was a powerful yet gentle person, who was reared in Lyndhurst, excelled in football, wrestling and track and is a member of the Lyndhurst H.S. “Hall of Fame”. He went on to the University of New Hampshire where he earned “All Conference” honors in football. He married his high school sweetheart, raised two wonderful children and was a pace setter within the business community. Eager to participate in youth programs, his calm and gentle demeanor made him a favorite amongst players and parents alike. His knowledge of sports made him an instant success among peers and although he was diagnosed with cancer in his early 30’s he never let up. He went on to become an assistant varsity football coach at River Dell and earned “Coach of the Year” honors, all the while battling the unknown inside of him. It was his courage we admire and have long respected. His ability to carry on a normal life while fighting cancer was nothing short of miraculous. It is for all of this that we honor our dear friend, Anthony. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a leader of men and a molder of character.
