  3. THE LOGIN PROCESS

  4. New Name/Login Screen User ID and Password remain the same

  5. New Name/Login Screen Location of Care stays blank until the user’s ID and Password have been authenticated

  6. New Name/Login Screen Persons who work in multiple HT locations will need to make sure that the correct location is selected at the start of each session

  7. YOUR DESKTOP

  8. Appointment Preference Double-click on an appointment on your Desktop Summary to go directly to the patient’s chart

  9. Appointment Preference This feature is only available on the Desktop Summary tab – not from within an appointment book

  10. Care Alerts on the Desktop Displayed along with your Flags, Care Alerts offer extra functionality

  11. What is a Care Alert? A Care Alert is a care-related note about a specific patient and is attached to that patient’s chart

  12. A Care Alert can be prioritized as normal, important, or urgent Care Alerts on the Desktop

  13. A Care Alert can also be assigned a Start Date and/or an Expiration Date Care Alerts on the Desktop

  14. Care Alerts on the Desktop You can Hide a Care Alert, which removes it fromyour Desktop, but keeps it visible in the patient’s chart

  15. Hide a Care Alert to remove it from your Desktop, but preserve it in the patient’s chart Remove a Care Alert to actually delete it from your Desktop and the patient’s chart Care Alerts: Hide vs. Remove

  16. To restore hidden Care Alerts, go to the Alerts/Flags tab of your Desktop, then click the Organize button • Check  View removed alerts/flags, then click OK Restoring Hidden Care Alerts

  17. The Chart’s Most Recent List Click the Chart button’s dropdown arrow to see the 10most recent charts in which you have been working

  18. THE PATIENT CHART

  19. No Known Medications If it has been documented that the patient has no known medications, it is displayed as such on the Summary tab

  20. No Known Medications “No known medications” also displays prominently across the Patient’s Medications tab, when applicable

  21. Medications Medications prescribed by a non-HealthTeam clinician and recorded as historic can be displayed accordingly

  22. Medications * Entered By* Signed By* Authorized ByComments help convey details of the prescription

  23. Care Alerts in the Chart Care Alerts are displayed on the Summary tab of the patient’s chart

  24. Care Alert Display Hover over a Care Alert displayed on a different tab to see the full content of that Alert

  25. Care Alert Display Click directly on the Alert display to open the View Alerts/Flags window for more viewing and editing options

  26. Care Alert Pop Ups A Care Alert can be set to Popup when the patient’s chart is accessed

  27. The Alerts/Flags Tab The Alerts/Flags tab displays: * Allergies & Adverse Reactions * Directives * Care Alerts & Flags

  29. Creating a Care Alert • In the patient’s chart, click the New button on the Centricity toolbar • Choose either to send the Alert to a specific Location or User(s)

  31. Creating a Care Alert • Select the Type, either Flag, Care Alert, or Popup

  32. Creating a Care Alert • Enter a Start and/or Expiration date, if applicable • Attach to either the Patient’s Chart, Registration, or Appointments

  33. Creating a Care Alert • (Optional) Modify the Subject line • Type the content in the Message field, then • Click Send

  34. A Care Alert Caution Popup Care Alerts can be useful, but they should not be over-used, or users may become desensitized to all Popups and miss something critical about a patient’s medical care.

  35. Disabling Pop Ups At some point you may turn off the Popup functionality, intentionally or inadvertently, by checking  Disable popup care alerts

  36. Disabling Pop Ups Disabling Popups is not recommended, as Popups are meant to bring special attention to specific aspects of a patient’s condition and medical care

  37. Restoring Pop Ups To reactivate disabled Popups, go to Options | Display… and check  Restore warning message dialogs

  38. The History Tab History views are a helpful alternative to flowsheets for displaying narrative text in the patient’s chart

  39. IN A CHART UPDATE

  40. Directives Reviewed Record that the patient’s Directives have been reviewed during an update

  41. New Directive Options The Directives’ Description dropdown list has been significantly expanded

  42. Recording No Known Meds Record in a chart update that the patient has no known medications

  43. Medications Reviewed Record that the patient’s medication list has been reviewed during an update

  44. The Medications Window The patient's active Problems are displayed in the New, Update, and Change Medications windows

  45. Search for a Medication Search for a medication by: * Brand Name * Generic Name, or * Keyword

  46. Medication Search Methods When searching by Brand Name or Generic Name, the Search methods include: * beginning with * containing, and * ending with

  47. Medication Handouts Print a patient handout of the medication selected in the Find Medication window

  48. Handout Print Options When printing a medication handout, you can choose a small or large font, English or Spanish language, and to record printing the handout in the patient’s chart

  49. Dosing Calculator Having selected a medication in the New or Update Medication window, click the Dosing Calculator button to access this feature

  50. The Monograph Utility Select a medication, then click the Monograph button to view reference information about that medication, such as precautions, contraindications, etc.
