Assessment of Reduced Chemical Schemes for Peroxy Radical Reactions in Various Scenarios
This study evaluates the performance of a reduced chemical scheme proposed by Szopa et al. for modeling peroxy radical reactions in atmospheric chemistry. By comparing results from the reduced scheme to a reference scheme across eight scenarios—ranging from highly polluted urban winter conditions to pristine remote environments—we examined the accuracy of the reduced model. Findings showed that the reduced scheme maintains a precision within ±10% of the reference scheme across both urban winter and regional summer scenarios, demonstrating its effectiveness for atmospheric simulations.
