  2. Introduction to Novel • Setting: Starts off in the kitchen of Felton’s (main character) home. • First Key Events: • Felton is overwhelmed with college brochures from recruiters • His mother Jerri is going back to college to learn accounting • Felton goes on college visits

  3. Protagonist – Antagonist • Felton Reinstein-(protagonist) a star high school football player who is wanted by many different colleges. His father hung himself when he was little • Felton is his own bad guy. He fights with himself in the story. Therefore, he is his own antagonist.

  4. Central Conflict • Who is involved? Felton and himself • Problem? Felton tries to justify his existence in the world and is faced with many obstacles. • What does he do? Does he go to drinking? Does he become a even worse? Does he end up just like his father? Dead?

  5. Minor Characters • Jerri: Felton’s mom who has change since the death of her husband. • Gus: Felton’s smart best friend who helps get through the craziness of his senior year. • Andrew: Felton’s younger brother.

  7. What do I think? • I personally loved this book! It was funny while still being full of depth and personality. The storyline was very unique and captivating! I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends. This is one of the best books I've read in a while.
