  2. Company safety program • Company safety program is basedonsafetypolicies and goals. • Company program’s are constructed to grade managers and employees ontheirsafety performance.

  3. Company safety program (cont) • What are measures to definecompany and operationalsafety? • Annualsafety, health and fireaudits. • Flightdepartments are auditedaboutevery 3 years. (FAA auditcansometimesbevalidforonlyoneyear)

  4. Participation • In order to achievesafety, everybody is required to participate. • Two-monthly meetings of about 90 minutes are held to evaluatecompany’soperationalsafety.

  5. Company standards • What are examples of companystandarddocuments? • FlightOperatingManual. • BasicOperatingManual. • Different companystandards are defined in the company’sSOP’s (hence FOM and BOM). • The documentsgiveguidance to employees in beingaware of limits, standards and procedures.

  6. Achievingcompanystandards • Training employees on a recurring basis for: • Toxicmaterialshandling • First aid • Hangar fireequipment • Evacuation • Safetystandards • Inspect areas of the business according to a checklist.

Achievingcompanystandards (cont) • See a hazard, report a hazard • Bymeans of anoccurence (report) • Fill out a form (sometimesanonymous) • MonthlyReliability Reports to indicate and show trends in safetystatistics. • How does a companyachieve a goodsafety program? • Business structure (the Boss needs to makeit happen). • Makingsafety a part of the job. • Geteverybodyinvolved to achieve the company goals etc.
