Operation Brake Out Operation “Brake” Out is a multi-agency enforcement initiative created to answer the ever growing problem involving transients in the North Central and Northeast areas of Austin. Over All Goal: • This is a Quality of Life initiative involving the residents of North Central and Northeast Austin, and the public service departments and organizations that service these areas. The goal is to assist the public in dealing with the ever growing problems involving transient violations. I.E., panhandling, illegal dumping, camping in public, public intoxication, narcotics violations, and prostitution. This goal will be reached through aggressive enforcement of applicable laws, clean up and maintenance of properties, community outreach, and involvement of the residents, businesses and community groups. Through this initiative The District Representative of the North Central and Northeast area commands will ensure justice for all and provide the services so greatly needed. The overall goal of the initiative is to improve the quality of life for the North Central and Northeast Austin communities, both the residents and property/business owners who have been bringing the topic to bear and the members of the transient community who are fighting to survive through their individual circumstances. The Austin Police and the neighborhood associations involved will do their best for everyone who is willing to get involved, help, and be helped.
