Learn When “Not” To Call 911 For An Ambulance A survey indicates that one in three people don’t understand when an ambulance is not needed to deal with everyday medical situations.  Here are several examples of when “Not To” call an ambulance: A woman going into the initial stages of labor A person with chronic back pain run out of painkillers The drunk person being ill (but not unconscious) toddler with a piece of Lego stuck up his nose The first time you notice some blood in the urine A toddler that has a bruise/bump on his head.
