Geometry Bell Ringer Activities for December 9 & 10

DESCRIPTION

Engage students with these Geometry bell ringer activities focused on key concepts such as vertices, angle bisectors, and unit conversions. In this session, students will identify the vertex in angle ∠XYZ, understand angle bisectors with examples, and practice converting yards to meters. The activities promote independent practice and group collaboration, with problems designed for skill reinforcement. Students will work on review worksheets and complete in-class work assignments. A binder check will also be conducted for assessment purposes.

Presentation Transcript

  1. Geometry December 9 & 10

  2. Bell Ringer 12/9 – 10minutes 1. What is a vertex? In angle ∠XYZ, what is vertex? 2. What is an angle bisector? If ∠EFG is bisected by ray FH, what are the two congruent angles? 3. Convert 5.6 yards to meters

  3. What is a vertex? Where two rays meet to form an angle. In angle∠XYZ, what is vertex? The vertex is the middle point, therefore vertex is Y.

  4. What is an angle bisector? • A ray that divides an angle into two congruent angles. • If ∠EFG is bisected by ray FH, what are the two congruent angles? • The two angles are ∠EFH and ∠GFH.

  5. Convert 5.6 yards to meters • Given 5.6 yards • Conversions 1 yards = 3 feet 1 foot = 0.3048m

  6. Convert 5.6 yards to meters • 5.6 yards x 3 feet x 0.3048 meter = 1 yard 1 foot 5.12 meters

  7. Vocabulary Check 5minutes • Review worksheet from yesterday

  8. Group and Independent Practice • Turn to page 41. • Wait for instructions.

  9. In-Class Work Do problems 1-20 Odd in binder as in-class assignment.

  10. Binder Check Friday • Bell ringers (Show 5) • Notes (Distance and Midpoint) • In Class Work (Show 4) • Homework (2 assignments) BINDER CHECK WORTH 100PTS SAME AS QUIZ GRADE
