African tribal masks are probably the most recognizable thing about Africa and a symbol of their ancient civilization and roots with many variations. We have the Zaouli Guro African Mask and the Dan African masks from Ivory Coast or the Fang African Mask from Cameroon and so on. These are just some examples of the thousands of different African masks already existing.<br><br>Africa has a vast and diverse musical heritage too. A Kalimba is an African musical instrument with a wooden soundboard and metal keys. In the classification of musical instruments, it falls in the category of lamellaphones or plucked idiophones, also called the Nyunga Nyunga, Nyonga Nyonga, and Karimba. We also have a Handmade Coconut Kalimba.<br><br>A Shekere is a West African percussion instrument consisting of a dried gourd with beads or cowries woven into a net covering the gourd. The instrument is played by shaking it or by hitting it against the hands. We also have a West African Shekere.<br>

The artistry of African masks is self evident but, for the people who create them, they have a much deeper meaning than surface beauty. The traditional African mask is worn during celebrations, dances and festivities and ritual ceremonies commemorating social and religious events.

The kalimba is a smaller, modern version of the mbira, which dates back more than 1,000 years in Zimbabwe. To play it, the tongues (lamellas) are depressed and released creating the same effect as being plucked.
