Vision and Mission • The Politecnico di Milano is a science and technology university producing engineers, architects and industrial designers through a variety of innovative courses taking care of specific technical competences and devoted to all sides of education including deontological and ethical asset. • Today we are focusing our main efforts on two key tasks: • Promoting multidisciplinary projects and internal cooperation (INTERNAL)between departments and scientific sectors, to increase overall impact and potential. • Enforcing the partnership with stakeholders(EXTERNAL)in order to develop joint research projects of common interest to promote sustainable growth.

Innovation still need to overcome frontiers…all the geographical economic and social barrier somehow limiting human and social development

International Cooperation Projects and joint activities: some examples PROJECT :LeNS, the Learning Network on Sustainability is a project for curricula development and teaching diffusion on Design for Sustainability focused on product-service system innovation. • Thematic Area • System innovation for sustainable mobility solutions. • Objectives: LeNS aims at contributing to human resources and curriculum development, in a reciprocal understanding of cultures, by promoting a new generation of designers (and design educators) capable to effectively contribute to a transition towards a sustainable society. LeNS ambitions to promote a new shared disciplinary ground on Design for Sustainability trough a series of exchange activities among the partner institutions. Individual Responsibility as a Key element for social development Politecnico di Milano Is committed to prepare the next generation for facing, with proper instruments and methods but also capacity and attitude the Third Millennium social challenges The curricula need to be revised On field inter&national experiences are essential in order to understand what is the meaning of using the professionals capacity and the personalattitude to serve society And we need to teach this approach to our students. Our long term vision elaborates the attitude of the volunteers in a comprehensive behaviours of responsible individuals: citizens or professionals Industries and institutions are build up by individuals: individual responsibility may induce multiplicative effects
