Chateau Roubine | Provence, France Love At First Sight It was in 1994 when Valérie Rousselle first fell in love with Chateau Roubine, which reminded her of the childhood she spent in the heart of Provence. “I was called by this area” she remembered fondly. Her one goal was to always aim for excellence while respecting local traditions. Valérie’s Story Valérie Rousselle was born in Saint-Tropez in 1963 and began a successful career in the Barriere Group at Deauville after graduating Lausanne Hotel School until she met and fell in love with Chateau Roubine in 1994. 2. Chateau Roubine | Provence, France A Story Always Linked to Provence In historical times, the Roman road also known as “Julienne” ran through the current vineyard, giving it a strategic position. Known since the beginning of the 14th century, Château Roubine was owned by the Knights Templar before being sold in 1307 to the Order of St. Jean de Jerusalem. In the 15th century Château Roubine became the privilege and pride of various famous Provencal families. In 1789, the revolution caused fragmentation of the property. In the 1800s, Allaman domain belongs to the family who in 1855 gave it to Anne Leclerc de JuigneLassigny. Through inheritance in 1923, Château Roubine back to Henri de Rohan Chabot who put it in the Ott family’s hands. In 1955 Château Roubine is recognized by decree as "Cru Classé" of Côtes de Provence. The Knights Templar coat of arms traces the history of the area: the dragon, emblem of Draguignan, and the Lion representing Lorgues: both placed under the protection of the Provence Sun. A Terroir’s Story Bordered by a forest of pine and oak trees, located in one piece at the heart of the Var between Verdon and the Mediterranean, the vineyard of Château Roubine is planted on exceptional soil. Thanks to the great diversity of its 13 soil types in its natural drainage ("Roubine" means “stream" in Provencal), its ideal orientation facing East/West and its argilo-calcareous marls, it offers ideal conditions for the production of high quality wines. Today the 321 acre estate – with 100 of those acres planted vineyards and excels through optimal association between advanced technology and scrupulous application of “Reasoned Agriculture Rules” (sustainable vineyard management). 5. Chateau Sainte-Béatrice | Provence, France THE PHILOSOPHY Respect for Nature Our vines are cultivated with the faithful application of the good precepts of the past. Plowing follows the rhythm of the seasons. The soil is amended by adding organic manure. The treatments use the most natural products. Disbudding and pruning are done by hand. Integral weeding is totally excluded. The vineyard on the slopes of Château Sainte-Béatrice faces the warm sun of Provence, in the gentle greenery of the Argens valley. The sun, the water and the time of a good aging in barrels and barrels of oak, is all the secret of its wines ... and all the pleasure of the difficult gourmets. For a light meal accompanied by an aromatic and fresh rosé, for a game that requires a sensual and serious red or for a fish that will harmonize with a white of dry white, Château Ste Béatrice offers you a full range to sing glasses and hearts. "To create the good it is only to be surrounded by beautiful and to do it with heart” QUINTESSENTIAL IMPORTER | MARKETER | DISTRIBUTOR www.quintessentialwines.com
