  2. Personal Information • ­ Niels Bohr was born on October 7, 1885 in Copenhagen, Denmark (Niels Bohr nobel, 1965). • Bohr passed away on November 18, 1962 (Stanley, 2009). • Bohr got married to MargretheNorlund on August 1, 1912 (Oaks, 2007). • Niels and Margrethe had six sons (Oaks, 2007).

  3. Major Contributions • “Bohr developed basic ideas about the structure of an atom” (Niels Bohr, 2000, p. 75). • Bohr created planetary model to show his theory that electrons orbit the nucleus of an atom (Oaks, 2007). • “Bohr later proposed the liquid drop as a metaphor to visualize atomic motion” (Oaks, 2007).
