Problem solving using numbers is the area that requires attention. Way Forward: Make sure that the children are aware of numerical facts Provide the children with problem solving opportunities. Year 2 have also performed well but the understanding and application of numerical facts is an area to be improved through problem solving. Way Forward: Make sure that the children are aware of numerical facts by having the opportunity to solve problems.

  6. Value for Money – Baseline Assessments: • Every child has made progress. • Targets for improvement – • Set a challenge to the children that have shown in their results the ability to move forward. • Provide support to the children that have demonstrated the need to improve.

  7. Value for Money – Baseline Assessment: Nursery • Every child has made progress • Targets to Improve – • Set a challenge to the children that have scored high marks especially 3 that came close to full marks. • Provide support to the children that have shown that they require support in certain areas.

  8. Blaenoriaethau 2009 10 • Raise the standard of Reading Welsh as a means of improving the levels attained by the children. • Maths – From NFER we will need to concentrate on providing the children with a variety of activities that support problem solving and numerical understanding. • Science – raising standards in Living Process and Materials • Set a challenge to the children that have performed well in their baseline assessments and effective transition will be the key to this. • Set targets that are more challenging to the school now that we have an effective set of results from which we can respond.
