The Center on Disability and Development at Texas A&M University is dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities through self-determination and community integration. Our mission includes developing resources for first responders to better serve the disability community during emergencies. Project REDD focuses on disaster preparedness, offering updated mobile tips and resources beyond traditional formats. We aim to foster collaboration among emergency managers, disability organizations, and the community, ensuring effective communication and support during critical times.

Region VI Working Group • Formed at the last “Getting Real” Conference in 2011 • Focused on goals set as a group at the conference • Biweekly phone conferences include disability organizations and emergency management organizations • Discussions include sharing disaster and disability-related resources and information
On today's call, the tips for first responders came up. There is interest in using these in the field. I would like to talk with you about how we might get them updated and seeing where more of these can be obtained. I had one other idea--- can we turn these into an app so they be more portal and more widely available? Patty Anderson, Texas Disability Rights
