Pastoral Care • UCL Academy’s Pastoral system is based on 5 Houses - each with its own dining and social area – Lyra, Equuleus, Orion, Vela and Cygnus. • The Head of House is based in the House area. • Each House will have a number of small House tutor groups. • These are vertical House Tutor groups mixing Foundation level and level 3. • Foundation level students meet their tutor twice a day, once on their own and once with level 3 students.

  5. Level 3 Curriculum • All students take 3 A-levels from the STEM specialism. • Each student is also required to take an 4thHumanities or Language A-level • This reflects our core belief in educating the Whole person. • This is combined with the Level 3 self-directed curriculum.

The Self Directed Curriculum. • Every half term all students can select 4 hours a week of additional study and activities to support the education of the whole child. • Base on the model of heart body minfdand spirit, students are guided to ensure that all aspects of their personal development and educational experiences. • Activities range across sports, debating, computing, music and dance, sewing, language, personal study, film making and appreciation. • Working with their tutors , students are guided and supported in selecting activities that will support their overall development and progress .
