Analysis of the Teaching Material 本单元和前面几个单元相比，看似各自独立，但又是紧密联系生活中实用情景英语。围绕“Giving gifts”开展听、说、读、写等一系列的教学活动，主要让学生掌握在生活中如何向他人提出建议。 　 本单元另一个语言项目是“Compare qualities”。由Section A的“Compare qualities”到Section B对不同宠物的观点以及拓展阅读“Why don’t you learn to sing English songs?”，均围绕着should和how about等表示提建议的句式。因此在教学过程中要充分发挥学生的积极主动性和参与性，以对话促提高，在实际运用和谈论中熟悉并掌握本单元交际用语。 Unit 8 Why don’t you get her a scarf ?   3. Teaching Aims １、语言技能目标 （１）能用各种表达建议的方式来为别人献计献策，为不同的人选择不同的礼物，如　：Why don’t you get her a camera? How about some tennis balls? （２）熟练运用形容词来表达自己的喜好，并说明原因。 如：That’s too boring. ２、语言知识目标 （１）一些形容词，如expensive,cheap,interesting... （２）运用Why don’t you…?   4. Analysis of students 经过将近两年的初中英语学习，学生已经建立了相对较稳固的基础。 他们已经在第二单元学习了提议“why don’t you…”, 所以本单元是对前面内容的复习与补充。其次，礼物是学生比较感兴趣的话题，因此，本节课的话题就不会空洞，毫无吸引力，学生们可以结合实际情况将英语真正运用到生活中。 Unit 8 Why don’t you get her a scarf ? Section A
