Stockholms bloodbath. The danish king Kristian II won the war and is now king of Sweden. He got crowned year 1520 and arranged a party in Stockholm to celebrate. He invited the finest noblemen in Sweden. But the third day of the party Kristian II took revenge on Sten Sture's noblemen.

  1. Stockholms bloodbath The danish king Kristian II won the war and is now king of Sweden. He got crowned year 1520 and arranged a party in Stockholm to celebrate. He invited the finest noblemen in Sweden. But the third day of the party Kristian II took revenge on Sten Sture's noblemen. He interrogated them and sentenced all of them to decapitation. November 8 th year 1520 over 80 people get decapitated in Stockholm, and the blood ran down the streets. This awful happening is called Stockholms bloodbath.

  2. Outhouse at Ornäsgården When Gustav Vasa was on hes escape from the danish soldiers he runned to Ornäsgården. There lived Arent Persson and hes wife. Gustav told them about Stockholms bloodbath. He meaned if he get help be leader of revolt to sink Kristian. Arent sayd he gonna help him but he went to the danish and told about gustav vasa. Arent thinked he gonna get a reward. When the danish camed helped Arents wife Gustav Vasa by down him in outhouse so he could escape. The Outhouse

  3. A smack on the butt. Gustav eskaped from the danish soldiers to sven älvson but the soldiers was after him. Mother kessti in the house whas baking when the Danish soldiers walked in the door. -We are looking for Gustav eriksson if you help us you can get payed, said one of the soldiers. Gustav whas standing by the oven and warming him self. So mother answered : no i haven´t seen him. - And you over there have you seen him? Said one of the soldiers to the man by the oven. Mother kersti got scared that her guest whas going to be busted., so she took the bread-shovel and smacked Gustav on the butt. -what are you looking at farm hand, haven`t you seen peapole be fore, get out to the barn and start` warking, she said. The soldiers laugh at the farm hand but they did not know it whas Gustav Vasa. This is the barn in Isala

  4. Gustav Eriksson Vasa in Isala Gustav was running from the Danish soliders. And he found a hidingplace at Sven Älfsson in Isala. The soliders looked for Gustav there so he had to run away. Sven hid Gustav in the hay on the cart, a horse drove the cart. When they had come a piece on the way, the soliders came and asked Sven for Gustav. - No, I don`t knov where he is, answered Sven. But they didn´t believe Sven and stuck their spear into the hay. Gustav got hit by the spear, he started to bleed. It dripped blood on the way. So Sven cut the horse´s leg so the soliders believed that the horse bled. After that they could go away!

  5. Gustav wound healed, and now was the right time to talk to the people in Mora. He talked about Kristian the second's horrible advance and tryed to get the men from Dalecarlia to revolt against the Danish soldier's. He promised to lead the revolt himself. But the farmers from Mora didn't want to go to war .Disappointed he decided to leave Sweden. He put on his skiis and went slowly up the mountains of western Dalecarlia. When he was close to Sälen he saw two men coming after him. Gustav was so tired that he couldn't flee exhausted he rested on his walking stick and waited for the followers's. Mr.Gustav he heard one of the cross country skiiers skreem. We have come to fetch you back. The Dalecarlia men have shown regret, if you still want to be the leader we will love to make revolt against the Danish king. Every year nowadays a skiing competition is arranged to remember Gustav's skiing trip. The competition runs from Sälen to Mora and is called VASALOPPET. Vasaloppet

  6. The debt to Lubeck Farmers and miners gather in Dalarna to revolt the king and the revolt spread to the other provinces. The swedish troops had won several important victories, but Gustav wasn´t pleased. His armys of farmers was very badly trained for war and got fast tired and worn out. They needed new equipment and weapon, but money was at an end. He thought that Lubeck and the Hansa-union could maybe help them. Because they felt some threat from Kristian II. But Lubeck won`t do in for nothing, they want do it for a lot of money. They should also trade with the Hansa-union´s merchants in the future. Gustav had no choice. They could now defeate Kristian II. But now they had a big debt to Lubeck to pay in cash.

  7. A Bible in Swedish The priest in Stockholsm big church was Olaus Petri . He was an eager supporter of Luther and his doctrine . Previously the bible had been written in Latin. But he thought that common people would like to take part of God's words. So he decided himself to translate the bible into Swedish. The first one printed was 1541. It was called Gustav Vasa's bible. Unfortunately it was very expensive. It was almost only the churche's men that had money to buy it. Normal people had settled for listening to the priest during the Sunday service at church.

  8. DACKEFEJDEN Gustav had at last managed to stop the revolt in Dalarna. But Småland was still displeased. In Småland was the farmers very angry. Gustav Vasa forbid them to cut down the trees in his own forest's becuase he was going to have it to build warships for his navy. Nils Dacke who lead the revolt, becuase he was furious on the high taxes. Nils Dacke and his man killed many nobleman and many of the king's soldiers. The king called in same velltrained soldiers, he thought the german soldiers can stop the revolt. But Nils Dacke killed the german soldiers. The soldiers injured Nils Dackes leg but he escaped, he hid in a farmers house. But the other soldiers found him and killed him. Dacke was beheaded and some hundred soldiers of Dackes soldiers where banished to Finland. And were never allowed to come home again. The farmers in Småland got to pay very much money becuase they helped Nils Dacke. This was Nils Dacke

  9. Gustav Vasa On the fall 1560 Gustav Vasa died. Probably he lived about 60 years. Nobody knows how old he was. To day many people means that Gustav Vasa in one of the most skillful regents in the Swedish history. The king had a short temper and when people in our time has examined his body they found out that he must have suffered a terrible tooth ace. That was probably one of the reasons that he got of reputation of being grumpy.

  10. On the 13th of december 1533 Katarina of Sachen Lauenburg and Gustav Vasa got a son. The son got the name Erik. Erik was the only child. When Erik was 2 years old his mother died. There where rumours to all the people in the land that the king had killed her. One year later Gustav Vasa married the noblewoman Margareta leijonhufud. They got 10 children together. 2 of them died, so Erik grew up with 8 siblings, 5 sisters and 3 brothers. When Gustav Vasa was about 55 years old he decided to marry again. This time decided he for one 16 years, Katarina Stenbock. But with her he had no children. Gustav Vasas family
