This document outlines the strategic changes in council growth from 2010-2011, emphasizing the shift in responsibilities. Previously, the responsibility to initiate new councils was shared by all, but accountability fell solely on the Council Growth Director. Now, every member is responsible for starting new councils, while the Diocesan Council Development Chairman and the Council Growth Director share accountability. This new framework aims to alleviate the workload on Diocesan and District Deputies, allowing them to focus on their current objectives while ensuring the vision of Fr. Michael J. McGivney thrives.

COUNCIL GROWTH 2010 - 2011 Jim Wade DIRECTOR Supreme Theme Here
COUNCIL GROWTH THEN • Who was RESPONSIBLE for starting new Councils? • Everyone! • Who was ACCOUNTABLE for not starting new Councils? • NO ONE!!!!! Except the Council Growth Director.
COUNCIL GROWTH NOW • Who is RESPONSIBLE for starting new Councils? • Everyone • Who is ACCOUNTABLE for starting new Councils? • Diocesan Council Development Chairman & Council Growth Director
REASONS FOR CHANGE • Diocesan Deputy constantly busy putting out fires…..No time to rub two sticks together to start new ones. • Ditto for the District Deputy • New councils were simply not a priority at the DD level. • Allows for FOCUS by the DCDC
MAIN POINTS OF CHANGE • Takes responsibility off the shoulders of Diocesan Deputy and District Deputy • Places it squarely on the DCDC • DCDC is the primary mover. • Round Tables, New Councils and Reactivations are the only job of the DCDC
HOW WILL IT WORK? • Round Tables • GK responsible for starting • DD will continue to informthe GK of requirement • DCDC will insure that 2629 is sent to Supreme in a timely manner • DD will insure that 2630 is sent to Supreme on time
HOW WILL IT WORK? • New Councils • DCDC has complete responsibility for all actions prior to actual formation of New Council • DCDC & Council Growth Director will keep the Diocesan Deputy informed of the progress at least monthly • Diocesan Deputy will appoint the new DD prior to the Start Date. • District Deputy assume all normal duties once the council is established
HOW WILL IT WORK? • Council Reactivation • DCDC has complete responsibility for all actions prior to actual reactivation of the Council • DCDC to coordinate if Council is in a District • DCDC & Council Growth Director will keep the Diocesan Deputy informed of the progress at least monthly • Diocesan Deputy will appoint the new DD prior to the Reactivation Date. • District Deputy assume all normal duties once the council is Reactivated
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? • Reduces workload on the Diocesan Deputy & District Deputy • Allows them to FOCUS on current goals • Fixes ACCOUNTABILITY on the DCDC • INSURES THAT theVISIONof FR. MICHAEL J. MCGIVNEY ISaPRIORITY!!!!!!!!!!
