What is Saginaw Future Inc.? • Non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation • Economic Development for Saginaw County • Private and public funding stake holders • 176 Private Business Supporters and Individuals • County & City of Saginaw & Local Units of Government, Foundations • 9 Staff Members (2, totally grant funded for the PTAC)

Our Mission To increase economic opportunity ensuring long term growth and prosperity by fostering investment in area such as advanced manufacturing, professional services, medical devices, high-tech industries and renewable energy (solar & wind). Purchased AT&T Building on Bay Rd • Invested $2.6m • Hired 150 new employees • Continues to grow and expand • Legislative Leaders and MEDC were instrumental in changing MEGA law to include HealthCare Benefits in the Calculation for MEGA Eligibility • MEDC Approved a 5 year MEGA, $2.89m tax credit

  10. NextEra Energy Resources • 7 wind turbines • Operations facility • Blumfield Township • $20m investment • 220 construction workers, 10 technicians • Part of 75 turbine wind farm

Merrill Technologies Group • Expanded at multiple locations • Renovated 2 City of Saginaw facilities • Relocated its Engineering & Integration division & its headquarters • Added new equipment in the City of Saginaw & Village of Merrill • Saginaw Future PTAC Contractor of the Year for 2nd year in a row • 450 employees in Michigan and Indiana • Worked with MTG for years

  12. 231-acre shovel-ready Tech Park • FREE parcels with a development agreement • Strategically located within a mile of Hemlock Semiconductor, the world’s largest producer of polycrystalline silicon for the solar and electronics industries • Global headquarters and multiple manufacturing facilities for Dow Corning, Nexteer Automotive and The Dow Chemical Company are located in the region • Nearly 20% of local workforce employed in manufacturing, many with experience in electronics and precision components

Other Initiatives • Downtown Saginaw’s Bancroft and Eddy buildings are being repurposed • The Event Center’s outdoor venue is also being developed • SFI will continue to develop a Regional Revolving Loan Fund • Reuse former industrial sites • Work with Great Lakes Bay Regional Partners to market our assets and assist job providers
