  2. Darrell the Dingo could not understand the Kookaburra’s lingo.“Darrell, have you seen this chick named Bingo?” asked Ken the Kookaburra. “She is as high as a kite.”

  3. “I don’t know what you’re talking about Ken.” replied Darrell. Darrell had never seen a chick named Bingo, nor had he ever seen a kite in his life.

  5. As Darrell was walking deeper into the bush, he saw something stuck on top of a tree.

  6. It wasn’t a bird, but it looked absurd in Darrell’s eyes.

  7. Darrell went back to Ken and asked him: “What is stuck up on the tree in the deep bushes?”Ken replied: “ Not the sharpest tool in the shed Darrell. That is what is called a kite.”“A kite?” Darrell said in a confused manner.“Yes Darrell, a kite.” said Ken. “That is what the human children use to lighten up their day.”

  8. Darrell was a little baffled. How could the children be entertained by a bright object which is stuck on a tree?

  10. The next morning, Darrell saw that the kite had fallen to the ground. He had heard footsteps not too far away so he behind a shrub.

  11. Two children appeared and saw their kite. Their eyes were alight when they found it. The children picked up the kite and took it back to an open space.

  12. Darrell followed the children to an open space. He made sure that the children didn’t see him, since he looked big and scary to them.

  13. Darrell saw the children hold onto a piece of string. The wind blew and the kite flew high.

  14. Darrell now understood how the children thought this was fun. While he walked back to his home, Darrell did see a chick named Bingo. She was flying high.

  15. Now Darrell understands Ken’s lingo.
