Important Indian Interior Design Characteristics

The 5 characteristics, they are:<br>• Colour – rich, dark and vibrant colours with deep shades against lighter backgrounds explain the colour pallet of Indian interior design<br>• Pattern –Indian temple are the best examples of showing the prominence of pattern.<br>• Décor –Mirrors, oil lamps and other ornaments of brass, bronze and copper are also an important part of décor here. <br>• Furniture – wood is the most commonly used material for furniture in India. It includes exotic wood like rosewood, teak and ebony. Profound examples include heavy wooden tables, bench style sofas and carved wooden chairs.<br>• Floor – Flooring plays a major role as the Indian climate is relatively sunny and warm. Use of granite is prominent as it is stain resistant, durable and has a low maintenance cost. Marble is another option to look at from the durability and attractiveness perspective.<br>
