  3. 2012 MOT • A lot of miles to cover • Jurisdictional issues on highway north • Focus on manual treatments of Scentless • Major Scentless infestations around Ft.St.John • More manual treatments being used on all IP’s • Efforts being made by general public are increasing

  4. 2012 MFLNRO • Better communication with range staff • Treating non tame pastures • Expanding past search radius • Started to work with FNIPMA area controller to get a better grasp on fsr`s in the north • Working in and around sensitive habitat • Realizing we have only started to locate and treat IP`s on MFLNRO land

  5. 2012 PRRD • Treated all PRRD dumps and solid waste facilities • Found far less IP`s on PRRD land then in the past • More time spent on awareness which increased public involvement • Making polygons for Scentless to allow easier more cost effective treatments

  8. 2012 BC Hydro • Majority of work is around Hudson Hope at this point • Working with Hydro and land owners • Lots of work done on Knapweed control • Manual treatments are being employed when ever possible • Realizing the outside perimeter`s of some sites are larger than we thought in past • Made good head way for future

  9. Oil and Gas • PRRD had good communication with OGC • More spotters on the ground • Pin pointing problem areas for the future • Receiving more and more support from oil and gas companies

  12. 2012 NPIPMA Summary • Made many new contacts • Made good head way in the oil and gas sector • More public involvement • Hand pulling of Scentless in 2011 did have an impact • Had a crew with excellent eyes for IP`s • Majority of budgets spent doing treatments

  13. Awareness and Outreach • Used one door knocker in 2012 season • Talked to several ranchers in lease and community pastures • Several industrial business’s were made aware of IP issues and how to deal with them • More than a few local people stopped to ask who what and where • Approximately 11 signs/posters were dispersed throughout IPMA in stores like Fast Gas in Hudson Hope and at beginning of busy forest service roads

Looking Forward • Have a lot of ground to cover especially MFLNRO • Work with oil and gas industry closer • Need to bring industry outreach and awareness up • More manual treatments • Work with FNIPMA closer • Coordinate with industry in off season to ensure we have knowledge of ground disturbance
