  5. Eye Health Examination Wales • ‘EHEW’ brings together WEHE and PEARS for people: • with acute eye conditions • who are at risk of eye disease and • who would find losing sight especially difficult

What it really means Care closer to home for patients A seamless service between primary and secondary care Utilising core competencies of optometrists Increased access for patients outside normal working hours e.g. Saturday appointments Skilled workforce, accredited Audited services Consistent ‘All Wales’ approach to primary eye care
