  1. Entrevistas y presentaciones El gran final

  2. Opción 1 • Restaurant Video: Go eat at a traditional Spanish-speaking restaurant. Videotape a 3 minute (approx) interview you have there with someone who is a native Spanish speaker. Ask them about various menu items, ingredients, their preferences/recommendations, or any other questions about food and the restaurant you come up with. Must be interactive; tell them your preferences, what you like, any experiences and thoughts about the food so you are using Spanish as well. You will bring this on a flash drive or disk so we can watch it in class. **If you are working in the group, you need to extend the interaction/video time, and consider interviewing multiple people. Everyone must have sufficient Spanish-speaking time. Make sure you ask if you can tape the person to show in class and ask them questions for an interview. Be prepared when you go. You may have the part at the restaurant videotaped and also combine it with a live presentation to talk about your experience (in Spanish, of course).

  3. Opción 2 • Narrated Slideshow : Go to eat at a traditional Spanish-speaking restaurant. Take photographs of yourself there, with staff members, the menu, you ordering your meal/drinks, the décor, and your food. Create a slideshow that you will present to the class. You will narrate your slide show in Spanish, using descriptive details about each picture. You need to email this to me so it can be presented during class. **If you are working in a group, you need to show pictures of both of you, and you both must equally present the material.

  4. Opción 3 • Cooking show: Create your own cooking show where you demonstrate a popular recipe from a Spanish-speaking country. Bring as many props as you can to demonstrate, and you may also use pictures or “substitutes” as props. This must be interactive with strong dialogue, and not merely read off a script or recipe card. You should know your commands well and demonstrate mastery of the food vocab you are incorporating. **If you are working in a group, you need to make it entertaining (think: Cooking SHOW!) with interactive dialogue between group members as you “cook.” You may do this as a live presentation by bringing props (at least the majority of) to class and pretending to cook the actual recipe, or you may videotape it at home so you can actually make the dish. ---If you videotape it, please edit appropriately so the length is not extensive and laden with footage of you chopping each and every tiny little item over and over again 

  5. Due Thursday, May 23 • You will be graded on your use of current vocabulary, your grammar, fluency, creativity and interaction. If you are videotaping or recording your voice make sure we can hear you clearly and at an appropriate volume since this is an oral presentation and part of your grade. This should be memorized. Cue cards are allowed if necessary, but points will be deducted for reading/audience disengagement. • ***Check with your profa for acceptable/authentic restaurant ideas!!! Fast food/texmex/American chain restaurants not acceptable!***
