  1. Sciatica: Sciatic nerve is the longest and the thickest nerve in the body. It emerges from several spinal nerves, passes under the muscle in the buttocks and extends down each leg. Pain –“especially shooting pain , numbness or tingling anywhere along the Nerve pathway” is called Sciatica. The unusual cause is pressure from a vertebra on one of the spinal nerves that form sciatic nerve. The pain may be worse at night, on sudden moment or after sitting down. As per Chinese Medicine the most common imbalance in acute sciatica is qi, and blood stagnation in the back channels and it’s also important to identify the underlying imbalance which may be causing the qi and blood to stagnant. How do we treat Sciatica at Akshar? We treat Sciatica choosing combination of treatments. Our treatment includes- Acupuncture, Reflexology, Cupping and Meridian massage.

  2.  Acupuncture points are selected according to the affected meridian and the underlying imbalance.  Reflexology brings a great relief. During the session more focus is given to stimulate the reflex points-Lumber, Spine, Coccyx, Pelvic/hip, Sciatic area.  Meridian massage works by releasing any extra tension in the Fascia and Connective tissue around the muscle. We are getting amazing results with these combinations of treatments. Within 10 sessions remarkable change in the intensity of pain is seen. Results may vary from person to person depending on their age and energy level and other associated factors. After ten sessions, if required weekly sessions are recommended.
