IFAP - objectives • Promote international reflection and debate on the ethical, legal and societal challenges of the information society • Support the development of common strategies, methods and tools for building an Information Society for all • Promote and widen access to information in the public domain through the organization, digitization and preservation of information

IFAP - objectives • Support training, continuing education and lifelong learning in the fields of communication, information and informatics; • Support the production of local content and foster the availability of indigenous knowledge through basic literacy and ICT literacy training; • Promote the use of international standards and best practices in communication, information and informatics in UNESCO's fields of competence; and • Promote information and knowledge networking at local, national, regional and international levels.

9. Goal of workshop • To strengthen information literacy skills of librarians and information workers, particularly in providing them with methodologies and techniques to enable information literacy programmes to be established in their own institutions in the S. Caucasus region

10. Objectives • To review existing information skills activities in participant’s institutions. • To introduce participants to concepts of information literacy • To strengthen information literacy skills in the electronic environment
