  2. DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS (3+) 1. Vehicle Emissions Testing(VOSA, TfL, Industrial Gas Co., LB Camden t.b.c.)aim: 2-5kW portable, robust H2 fuel cell on trailer 2. Residential FC microCHP / boiler-replacement Trial (University-led, Industrial Partners, Housing Assoc)aim: Develop UK testing and evaluation procedures, monitor CO2 and transient performance in real building environment, industry outreach (other FC micro CHP demos) 3. Renewable Hydrogen-Fuel Cell- Powered Air Quality Monitoring Unit(LB Croydon, Partners)aim: Demonstrate zero emission fuel cells and renewables in a city centre environment

  3. OUTREACH ACTIVITIES 1. Fuel Cell CHP – LHP Briefing Noteaim: produce simple 2-page document for newcomers to FCs within Local Authorities and commercial/building developers 2. Fuel Cells for Buildings (LHP, CIBSE & CHPA)aim: engage with major developers to encourage consideration of high electrical efficiency fuel cells for key developments. Produce conference and establish network. 3. Schools Fuel Cell kit project(-joint national pilot project)aim: familiarise Children with FC technology, disseminate FC kits to schools, familiarise Teachers and Parents with FCs/H2

HYDROGEN ACTION PLAN Project-based OBJECTIVES: Support and Facilitate Industry Promote expertise & development of clusters of fuel cell/hydrogen-based companies Facilitate networking, information exchange and partnerships Develop skills base in London: workshops, liaison, training Gain AcceptanceInform and educate public, LAs & business (market pull) Develop and Demonstrate Good Practice Produce/promote case studies and best practice through demonstration projects

LONDON’s TARGETS(proposed) Small FCs 3+ microCHP units by 2006 35 microCHP units by 2007-8 600-1500 microCHP units by 2012-15 Large FCs (>100kW) 0.5-2MW capacity by 2007 15-40MW capacity by 2011-15 Notes: Proposals produced in consultation with industry Proposals based on global market size and technology development
