  1. Design Flux Technologies, LLC Kent Kristensen | Chairman/CEO Courtney Gras | President Tom Vo | Chief Technology Officer Terence Baptiste | VP of Finance & Administration David Bordwell | Lead Applications Engineer

  2. The Problem: Today: There are countless battery types and applications and each requires special "add-on" products to accomplish what should be the simple task of storing and using energy.

  3. We believe energy management should be simple It should transform to meet your needs on the fly …without any additional hardware

  4. Our Solution: The Intelligent Energy Exchange: A Comprehensive Hardware and Software Turnkey Solution for industries, businesses and consumers that store, deliver and exchange electricity on-demand

  5. Introducing: The world’s most versatile power manage system AC in Or DC in Unified battery charger, management system, and power bus structure AC out Or DC out AC or DC power in | AND | AC or DC power out No chargers, no inverters, no motor controllers

  6. Value- Quantitative • 6-min charge to 80% | for a standard EV battery pack • 30% Reduction in cost | compared to state-of-the-art • 4x Battery life | improved performance & extension useful life • 5% Accuracy | prediction & mitigation of failures

  7. Value - Qualitative • Versatility | New applications via our “Energy Exchange” • Flexibility | Applicable to all rechargeable battery types • Scalability | From consumer electronics to grid-storage

  8. How it works • Manage battery cells on an individual basis as Energy Blocks. • Hardware is shockingly simple, low-power, and low-cost • The complexity is in proprietary software which coordinates and synchronizes the Energy Blocks in real time to transform the battery pack to meet the needs of the application.

  9. How it works • “Swap-out” cells in software • The ultimate battery management system • Re-use old cells & integrate them with new packs • Mix & match battery chemistries, and even energy storage devices!

  10. Intellectual Property • DFT is filing an International Provisional Patent including three or more core technology claims. • The majority of our software will remain trade secret.

  11. Market & Target Applications

  12. Market & Target Applications - Detail • DFT obtained a federal grant fromNortechto perform a high-level market analysis where market size, opportunities, threats & venture capital investment were observed in the following spaces: • Consumer Electronics ($400bn in 2015) • Uninterruptable Power Supply ($13.07bn in 2017) • Transportation/EV’s ($54bn in 2011, 2.9 million vehicles by 2017); • Utilities/Energy Storage/Grid Storage ($113.5 billion incremental) • Nortech will also develop and validate our value proposition and perform voice of customer project(s) for within the Advanced Energy Cluster in Northeast Ohio. • (Lux Research) , (Pike Research)

  13. Competitive Analysis The Energy Exchange is an original concept The Value Proposition Differentiation • Confirmed by both Ecomove A/S and ARPA-E: • DFT is the ONLY player with our approach to power management • First-to-Market advantage • Barriers through Trade Secret Software • Our product is: • Highly disruptive • Scalable • Versatile • Low Cost • High volume manufacturing • Or: High profit through low volume

  14. Value Proposition Positioning • Alrairnano= Battery Module Balancing with a Cascaded H-Bridge Multilevel Inverter • Clayton Power and Element Energy= working on Micro-Inverter technology charger • ChaDeMo= DC FCS, > 40 players • SAExxxx = DC FCS, > 10 players (growing) • Proprietary= DC FCS, < 5 players (shrinking) • FCS= Fast Charging Station We will migrate from A -> C through custom Non-Recurring Engineering services working with OEM’s. Service B Current players operate here DFT DFT DFT DFT C A Cost Technology

  15. Customer Engagement Process • Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE): • Purchase order or contract for time & material or project pricing • Electronics Contract Manufacturing (ECM): • Purchase order or contract for customized modules or products (cost+ model) • Software License Agreement (SLA): • Purchase order or contract for right to use license • Technical Services Agreement (TSA): • Purchase order or contract for annual technical support, maintenance and service agreement for products, modules and software
