Scuppernong Grape • The scuppernong was named after Scuppernong river were they were first discovered • This tasty grape was designated our state fruit in 2001 • This grape usually comes in colors of Dark Green or Bronze • Mother Vineyard is a 400 year old scuppernong grape vine • Scuppernongs are a great source of vitamin C • Scuppernongs make Scuppernong wine.

  3. Sweet potatoes • North Carolina is the largest producer of sweet potatoes in the USA.. They are high in vitamin C & A . Also, they are low in fat. On a normal growth, it takes 85 – 100 days to form in the ground. Sweet potatoes usually contain up to 4.2 grams of natural sugar. Last of all, they will look similar to a morning glory at the flowering stage. Sweet potatoes became our state symbol in 1995.

  4. Milk!!! • In 1987 milk became our state beverage. People loved it, in 1997 american farmers produced 156.6 billion pounds of milk. At one time it was more expensive than gas. It gives vitamin D and A. Also you can’t get all your nurturance without drinking milk. That is not a problem though because milk taste !!!GREAT!!!

Strawberrys!!! • The Strawberry is actually a vegetable .IS the mostpopular vegetable in the world .Its nickname is red berry , but at first Strawberrys were called Strewnberrys .More than 19 million dollars worth of Strawberrys are deleivered a year .In 2001, the Strawberry became our state red berry

  6. Blueberry • In 2001 blueberries was designated as the state berry .Blueberries are the most popular fruit in the world .All blueberries help boost memory cells .The blueberry’s nickname is state blue.
