Please review/study hard There’s still TIME, but in words of baseball great, Yogi Berra, with a little over two weeks left, it’s getting late quite early… If you study, I truly believe you will do well, honestly, right Prince O? Lol. In all seriousness, please review/study. • 1) First of all, know your world! There are some games online that can help you study. Know where the oceans are, continents, and various countries within the continents. • 2) Know your cultures! Try to learn the basics of what the attitudes of different parts of the world were. Remember that the Chinese were very isolated, the Mongols very ruthless, the Spanish very curious to explore, and so on. As long as you have the general idea of how different cultural attitudes have been throughout history, educated guessing in the test isn't too hard! Most of the knowledge you need to know can be easily guessed if you know how societies work (seek out the patters – look for key words, phrases, dates, individuals, regions, etc., look for the clues). • 3) Read up.Use the Barron’s text alongside the packets. Spend all the time you can reading the history summaries. If you don't, look at the summaries that are generally at the end of the chapters in your textbook. Just jam your brain with all the world history knowledge you can! Even if you don't remember every detail, your subconscious might when the question comes up on test day. • 4) Practice. Find practice tests wherever you can! Practice writing prompts. Also, practice making up a thesis for your prompts. Even if you have no idea the answer to a prompt, if you can make up a good thesis you automatically get 1 or 2 points- and those points might make it or break it!
