In December 2009, Member States were required to release their “forecast documents” to demonstrate readiness for achieving the EU's goal of 20% renewable energy by 2020. The challenge was to submit comprehensive documents showcasing each Member State's national contributions. By 30 June 2010, Member States needed to notify the Commission of their national action plans. This involved crafting action plans that leverage each country's best potential through effective practices and viable proposals, ensuring collective progress towards the renewable energy target.
