Franchising is the Granting of sole selling rights within a given Geographical area. • The Franchising company supplies equipment or raw materials for a licensee who either pays a franchise fee or a percentage of turnover
Generally franchises are distinguised by three characteristics :- • The Franchiser owns a trade or service and licenses it to Franchisees in return for royalty payments • The Franchisee pays for part of the system This is normally in two parts :- i) One as initial fee ii) Second as service fee on turnover on monthly or quarterly basis III. The Franchiser provides its franchisee with marketing & operations system for doing business.
