Dosage form: emulsion • A dosage form consisting of a two-phase • system comprised of at least 2 immiscible liquids • One of which dispersed as droplets (internal or dispersed phase) within the other liquid (external or continuous phase) emulsion is stabilized with one or more emulsifying agents e.g. Cream, lotion, ointment

  5. Dosage form: emulsion • Water phase contain Active compound, Humectant, perservative, antioxidant, buffer, emulsifier, color, perfume • Oil phase containActive compound, Emoillient, emulsifier, color, perfume • Active compound: anti-aging, anti-acne, anti-inflammation, anti-bacteria etc.

  6. Dosage form: emulsion • Quantity of internal phase • viscosity • Liquid, easy to flow <30% • Moderate 30-74% • Highly viscous >74% • Lotion • Low viscous emulsion • Usually is o/w, contain internal oil<30% • Cream • moderate viscous emulsion, internal oil 30-74%

  7. Dosage form: emulsion • Emulsifier, emulsifying agent • Surfactant • Anionic surfactant • Caionic surfactant • Non ionic surfactant: widely used due to nonirritation, • depend on HLB value • Natural emulsifier: lecithin • Co-emulsifier

  8. Dosage form: emulsion More HLB more hydrophilic, more water soluble

  9. Dosage form: emulsion Ointment • A semisolid dosage form • Highly viscous emulsion • Containing <20% water and volatile • >50% of hydrocarbon, waxes,orpolyol (higher alcohol) Suspension • A liquid dosage form that contains solid • particles dispersed in a liquid vehicle

  12. ประเภทของเครื่องสำอางแต่งสีสำหรับผิวหนังประเภทของเครื่องสำอางแต่งสีสำหรับผิวหนัง • เครื่องสำอางประเภทแป้งผัดหน้า • เครื่องสำอางสำหรับตา • เครื่องสำอางใช้แต่งแก้ม หรือรู้ช (Rouges) • เครื่องสำอางใช้แต่งปาก หรือลิปสติก (Lipsticks)

  13. Powders : Loose powder • Loose powder is a mixture of talc, pigments and fragrance • Important to have asbestos (and other fibers) free talc • Talc particle size is important: above 20μ for loose powder,below for pressed powders is acceptable • Preservatives: mainly parabens

  14. Powders : Pressed powders • Pressed powders will contain in addition a binder (oil or fatty ester) • Mica and other pearls e.g. bismuth oxychloride • May contain silicones to give a softer touch • Wet-Dry powders contain silicones

  15. แป้งอัดแข็ง • การตั้งตำรับพื้นฐานของแป้งอัดแข็ง มีส่วนประกอบหลัก 3 ส่วน ได้แก่ • เนื้อแป้ง (Base Powders) • สารยึดเกาะ (Binding agents) • สีและน้ำหอม (Color and Perfume)

Powder Bases • Talcum มีขนาด 1-5 μm • Sericiteได้จากธรรมชาตืรูปร่างแบน เกาะติดผิวดี ทำให้หน้าสว่างขึ้น • Mica โครงสร้างแบนเหมือน sericiteแต่มีความมันวาวสูง • Magnesium stearate เกลือของกรดอ่อน เป็น lubricant , binder จะลื่นกว่า Zinc stearate • Zinc stearate มีฤทธิ์อ่อนๆ ในการฆ่าเชื้อด้วย ใช้ทำแป้งทาสิว • Magnesium carbonate light ดูดซับความมัน เบา มี bulk density ต่ำ

  22. Powder Bases • Silica มีรูพรุนดูดซับน้ำมัน ใช้แบบ amorphous ดูดไขมันได้เยอะ มีรูพรุนสูง แบบ sphere จะช่วย disperse สี ทำให้ puff ปัดติดง่าย • Nylon powder ช่วย disperse สี • Polyethylene พวก PMMA ช่วย disperse สีและมีแบบดูดซับไขมัน นุ่มกว่า silica (silica กลม แต่เป็นทรายจึงมีความแข็งกว่า)

  23. Binder, mainly waxes and oils • ใช้สำหรับเพือ่ให้แป้งเกาะกันและเดาะติดบนผิวหนัง • ผิว 60% เป็น lipoprotein (ไขมัน) แป้งต้องเคลือบด้วยไขมัจึงจะเกาะติดดี • ใน eye shadow ต้องไม่ซึม เกาะติดผิวดี • Beeswax, Cetyl alcohol (มีการใช้บ้างเพื่อเพิ่มความแข็.ง) • Mineral oil, Petrolatum • Fatty acid esters (Myristylmyristate, Cetylrinoleate, Isopropyl palmitate, Isopropyl myristate etc.) แต่ละตัวมีความเบาและนุ่มต่างกัน

  24. Binder, mainly waxes and oils • Lanolin derivertivesบางทีแกะกินหญ้าที่มี DDT ก็จะออกมาตามไขมัน หรือเชื้อวัวบ้า ที่สามารถติดสมองแกะได้ (Lanolin oil นุ่มนวล เกาะติด ,Isopropyl lanolateเข้ากับผิวได้ดี เบาบาง เป็นไขจากสัตว์ที่เหมือนของมนุษย์ , Lanolin alcohols etc.) • Vegetable oils (Jojoba oil, Sweet almond oil, Macadamia nut oil etc.) • Ester ของ Vegetable oil หรือ Squalaneก็ให้ความนุ่มนวล

  25. Cosmetic colors • Inorganic Pigments (Ultramarine blue, Ultramarine Pink, Titanium Dioxide, Hydrated Chromium oxide, Anhydrous Chromium oxide, Ferric Ammonium ferrocyanide ) • Iron oxides (Black, Brown, Umber, Russet, Sienna, Yellow, Tan, Burgundy)

Natural Color -Carmine มาจากแมลงวันสเปน ราคา 30,000-40,000 บาท /กก.

Pearlescent Pigment & Iridescent Color • Mica platelets coated with Titanium Dioxide (Timica@ & Flamenco@ of Mearl or Timiron@ & Soloron@ of Rona) • เป็นพวกมุกสะท้อน หยาบ ราคาไม่แพง • Mica platelets coated with metal oxide and color pigments (Cloisonne@, & Gemtone@ of Mearl) or Colorona of Rona • เป็นมุกที่มีสี มีความปลอดภัย ทาตา ทาปากได้ ทนอุณหภูมิสูง 1000๐

Titanium Dioxides coated Mica platelets Interference and color pigments (Duocrome@ of Mearl and Dichrona@ of Rona) • สีเหลือบ มองตรงเห็น 1 สี มองเฉียง 45๐ เห็นอีกสี เช่น ใช้ในอุตสาหกรรมรถยนต์ 4. Mica coated with Bismuth oxychloride (Shinju@ of Mearl or Mibiron@ of Rona) • เป็นมุกสังเคราะห์ มีความวาวสูง นิยมใช้ในยาทาเล็บ ไม่นิยมใช้ในพวก eye shadow และ brush on เพราะให้ความวาวด้านเดียวมากเกินไป ไม่ทนแสง จะดำ มี density สูงกว่า mica ทั่วไป 7 เท่า ทำให้มีปัญหาในการผสม ถ้าผสมนานมุกจะตก ต้องหาเวลาที่เหมาะสม

Guanine-natural pearl (Mearlmaid@ of Mearl or Naturon of Rona) • มุกธรรมชาติมาจากเกร็ดปลา เงา เฉดสีนุ่มนวล อาจติดเชื้อได้ ราคาแพง 7. Metallized Film • ใช้มากในยาทาเล็บ พวกรูปดาว รูปสัตว์ โดยการนำ film บางๆ ของ PET , PE มาระเหย ทำให้เงาและใส่สี และนำมาตัดเป็นรูปต่างๆ ตามต้องการ

  30. Preservatives • Methylparaben • Propylparaben • Butylparaben • Ethylparaben • Sodium Dehydroacetateเป็นกลุ่มน้ำส้มสายชู อาจระคายเคือง • Imidazolidinyl Urea • Diazolidinyl Urea การใช้รอบตา อาจทำให้แสบตา • etc Japan เริ่มไม่ให้ใช้

  31. Fragrances • ห้ามใช้กับผลิตภัณฑ์รอบดวงตาเพราะระเหยได้เป็น solvent • เช่น Mascara , Eye shadow
