PREPARATION AND PRODUCTION OF CASE STUDIES Romanian case-studies developed in the previous AIHA Partnership with The University of Chicago The impact of introduction of a new information system on the structure of the district hospital Sibiu(decision-forcing, policy- making) The health system reform in a district health authority(decision-forcing, policy-making, illustrative) The evaluation of would infections in a surgery department(problem defining, decision- making, illustrative) Family Planning case study (concept aplication, policy-making) Foundation of a new NGO College of Physicians - Bucharest (organizational development)

EVALUATION OF THE BENEFITS  improve the dialog with the students  stimulate interest and curiosity  participants in the courses discovered that learning increase and does not diminish hierarchical authority and experience  students learned there is also a different approach to problem solving, things can be done in different ways and uncertainly or doubts are acceptable  no single approach to education, including the case-study approach serves all purposes or fills all needs  cases are helpful when used in combination with other methods and tools  The primary benefits of the case study method lie not in the identification of specific answer but in the development of insights and in the simulated application of principles (Charles R.
