to offer a Canadian map and its provinces to the students to introduce some popular tourist sites and to teach vocabularies on what the tourists can do there (eg Niagara Falls, polar light) to enhance students’memory of the words by performing the action on the cards (eg boat rowing, shopping) Learning Goals
teachers will introduce Canadian geographic map and point out each provinces read the touring site cards and put them on the correspondence provinces Teach the activity cards and match them with the tourist sites Pre-teaching
1 student will draw a card from the tour site box, while the others pick from the activity box they will then act out the words on the cards, and have to remain silent unless they speak English the 1 student is to match his/her card with the appropriate activity Game play
Students all seemed interested in seeing the map and the picture cards they can repeat well after the teachers However, acting can be difficult for those who are less outgoing, thus more teacher prompting is needed Studens may have not heard of the places before, but seeing the grand pictures may elicit future interest in researching for the topic reflection
