  2. Our network’s vision is… To have a chaplain serving in every sports club in Australia.

  3. The question is ‘How’ can we do this? (When we’re a volunteer network?)

  4. Circles. Or to use a sports comparison…

  5. Centre Bounce Teams

  6. Centre Bounce Teams • In Australian Rules Football the game begins with only 4 players from each team in the centre square. • There is a tall ruckman and 3 on-ballers all who get the ball moving in the right direction

  7. Centre Bounce Teams is SCA‘s strategy to help move our vision in the right direction

  8. Moving in the Right Direction… • The SCA network is committed to and gives permission to start countless Centre Bounce Teams throughout Australia • In regions or shires • In specific sports or leagues • In church denominations or networks • In mission agencies • Even in a local church • Their focus is getting chaplains into sport • Once they get the ball moving other players get involved; like trainers & senior chaplains • Centre Bounce Teams will likely start other Centre Bounce Teams

  9. There are a few important characteristics of Centre Bounce Teams to note… • They have Reach Centre Bounce Teams will typically consist of people with reach in their sport, league, community or church networks

  10. They also… • Have reach • Work Hard Centre Bounce Teams (in sync with SCAs values) will work hard at appointing chaplains to clubs

  11. They also… • Have reach • Work Hard • Make Contact CBT’s will contact clubs & church networks to find suitable people to be chaplains and find clubs that want a chaplain

  12. They also… • Have reach • Work Hard • Make Contact • Get Others Involved Once they get the ball rolling they make it easy for the rest of the SCA team to get involved – eg,training

  13. And finally… • Have reach • Work hard • Make contact • Get others involved • They don’t need to be the ‘Captains’ The pressure is off. Centre Bounce Teams don’t need to know or do it all – just help get the game started in their region or sport.

  14. Strategically SCA is seeking to empower a movement of rapidly growing circles of sports chaplaincy networks in regions and sports that are governed by core guiding principles and trusted people.

  15. We would like to invite you to see… Men and Women serving Christ as sports chaplains in every sports community in your region or sport.
