  2. Kaunas, 8 June 2005 The Association of Municipalities, Polish Network “Energie Cités” (PNEC) is a non governmental, non profit organisation with its office located in Kraków. The organisation was registered in 1994. The statutory goal of the Association is promotion of energy efficiency and creation of municipal development strategy, including renewable energy. www.pnec.org.pl

Kaunas, 8 June 2005 11 yearsof Polish Network “Energie Cites” Participation in over 30 projects, organising over 40 seminars, training's, study tours and conferences in the framework of the project financed by: EU programmes (TEMPUS, SAVE, ALTENER)and USAID(World, Learning, ASE, AED, PAUCI, MUNEE) www.pnec.org.pl In 1995- 2005 over 2100 representatives from local authorities were trained: • from Poland – about 2000 people • from Ukraina – 84 people • from Croatia – 22 people • from Armenia – 12 people • from Moldova – 12 people

The examples of good practice in Poland and the European Union Idea Polish Network „Energie Cités” received from the European network Energie-Cités CD-ROM presenting 105 best practices of use of renewable energy in cities and communities in 19 European countries. CD-ROM prepared in English and French by Energie-Cités with the www.pnec.org.pl financial support of European Commission within the scope of the ALTENER Programme was translated into Polish.

The examples of good practice in Poland and the European Union Activities www.pnec.org.pl Polish Network „Energie Cités” prepared another CD-ROM “Renewable energies in Poland. 70 good practice” which contains 72 examples of Polish practice of the renewable energy use.

Kaunas, 8 June 2005 Renewable Energy – Transfer of Knowledge and Technologies for Regional Innovation Strategies Activities - preparing database connected with renewable energy, a manual (1 000 copies) for the private sector interested in renewables, - organising 22 training sessions (1day each)in the whole Malopolskie Voivodeship, - 10 probations in private companies (6 months each) for graduates and teachers from academies in Malopolskie Voivodeship www.pnec.org.pl
