Saving Electronic Files You can ensure that documents are properly saved by: • Typing the name of the document without spaces • spongebob.doc • Using the underscore symbol to denote a space • sponge_bob.doc • Including the extension of the program: • Microsoft Word (.doc) • Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt) • Microsoft Excel (.xls) • PDF document (.pdf) • Webpage (.html) • Graphics (.gif or .jpeg)

Sharing Files You can transfer files between a PC and a Mac by: • Following the guidelines for saving a document. • Including the proper extension. • Having the same computer program, in which you created the document, loaded on the intended Mac or PC computer. • Launching the computer program and then opening the document.
