The LHCf experiment, started in April 2010, is a collaboration of various universities and research institutions including Nagoya University, CERN, and Berkeley's LBNL. The purpose of this experiment is to study cosmic rays and high-energy particle interactions. By detecting and analyzing the decay of particles produced in high-energy collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), researchers aim to enhance our understanding of cosmic phenomena and improve the models predicting cosmic ray interactions with the Earth's atmosphere. This project involves contributions from multiple leading institutions in Japan, France, Italy, Spain, and the USA.
