  3. Background • Established in 1990 • Clientele composed of small businesses and personal banking checking and savings accounts • Our customer base is in the Greater Houston and Clear Lake area with several branches in the Galveston, Webster, and Texas City area.

Business Concerns • ABC Bank current operations only allows customers to make deposits/withdrawals at their local branches. • The bank itself does not have ATMs. • Customer has to pay a nominal fee to withdraw their money using the external ATM vendors. • This mode of operation is inconvenient to customers and not efficient for the business. • Cons • Customers have to come into the bank and manually fill out deposit/withdrawal slips • Bank processing time of customer information is far behind their competition due to the fact that they can only service their customers through the traditional methods • Customers out of town don’t have the ability to access their account information.

Business Proposition • Provide customers with the ability to execute transactions (access banking information, withdraw cash, deposit money) from remote locations through the use of automated teller machine (ATM) machines. • Give customers the ability to check account information using an automated phone system. • Offer free Mobile Banking System (MBS)

Business Requirements • Identify hardware/software to be used for the ATM • Identify locations where the ATM will be placed • Determine what security measures need to implement • Customers security • Account protection • Cash handling transactions • Establish maintenance requirements • Determine the networking system requirements

  9. Value Added • The ATM services give ABC Bank the ability to do more business in more places at any time simultaneously • More customers added  more money put into banks  profit increases • Saves manpower decrease wasted time profit increases
