  1. Who Is This Jesus?

  2. JESUS CHRIST! “Who is this?”(Matt. 21:10) “Who is this man who speaks blasphemies?”(Luke 5:21) “Who is this man who even forgives sins?”(Luke 7:49) “Who is this man about whom I hear such things?”(Luke 9:9) “Who is this Son of Man?”(John 12:34)

  3. JESUS CHRIST! • Today these words are most often used as “swear” words! • Not true of Buddha, Mohammed, Lenin, or Mao • Many people are deeply hostile to Jesus!

  4. Why Are People Today So Reluctant To Talk About Jesus? • Is It Because of The Church? • The society built by Jesus has been so perverted, so twisted, that in most instances it does not at all resemble the original! • Denominationalism • Division • Entertainment in the place of worship • Worship that is dry & boring

  5. Why Are People Today So Reluctant To Talk About Jesus? • Is It Because of The Perfection In The Life of Jesus? • Jesus the only “founder” of a major religion to make the claim of perfection • The closer we get to Jesus, the more obvious our own short-comings and failures appear • Many don’t want to get too close to Jesus because they suspect He would require some major “changes” in their lives!

  6. Why Are People Today So Reluctant To Talk About Jesus? • Is It Because of The Fact That Jesus Claimed To Be God? • Again, in this Jesus is unique among all the “founders” of religions • So many are uncomfortable with this claim that they have “reinvented” Jesus

  7. “A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic, on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg, or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.” C.S. Lewis

  8. Why Are People Today So Reluctant To Talk About Jesus? • Is It Because of The Fact That Jesus Claimed To Be God? • Again, in this Jesus is unique among all the “founders” of religions • So many are uncomfortable with this claim that they have “reinvented” Jesus • Most do not want to have to stand before Jesus as “Judge” and answer for their conduct in this world!

  9. Why Are People Today So Reluctant To Talk About Jesus? • Is It Because of The Church? • Is It Because of The Perfection In The Life of Jesus? • Is It Because of The Fact That Jesus Claimed To Be God?

  10. Two Reasons Why We MUST Learn & Talk About Jesus: • For all of our scientific and technological advances, human nature has changed very little, if at all! • People today know so very little about Jesus!
