Bay Area Biotech Consortium, Career Pathways Project

The Bay Area Biotech Consortium's Career Pathways Project, led by Paige Lloyd of Genentech and William Watson from the San Mateo County Workforce Investment Board, aims to enhance the biotech workforce through collaboration with leading educational institutions. This initiative has successfully trained 150 biopharmaceutical manufacturing technicians and 40 quality control technicians, backed by $2 million in federal investment. By fostering partnerships between industry and community colleges, the project addresses the growing demand for skilled workers in the Bay Area's thriving biotech sector.
