  3. The Endosymbiotic Theory proposes that: • Aerobic Bacteria became Mitochondria • Cyanobacteria became • Chloroplast

  4. Endosymbiont Theory Support for this Theory: • Same size and structure as bacteria • Have their own DNA that is different from the DNA of the nucleus • Divide similarly- binary fission

  5. Endosymbiont Theory • Chloroplasts and Mitochondria are descendants of once free-living prokaryotes that were engulfed by larger cells… establishing a symbiotic (mutually beneficial) relationship.
