Supporting Research Data Management Infrastructure: The Role of University Libraries

The 2013 U of A Libraries Data Summit explored the critical role of libraries in Research Data Management Infrastructure (RDMI). RDMI encompasses the technology, services, and expertise essential to support data-related activities across the entire research lifecycle. Definitions • e-Science is computationally intensive science that is carried out in highly distributed network environments, or science that uses immense data sets that require grid computing; the term sometimes includes technologies that enable distributed collaboration.
